We are pleased to announce that the astroturf carpet in front of the ball wall has been replaced, thanks to grants from Greenham Common Trust, Baughurst Parish Council, Helping Hands, Basingstoke Councillors Mike Bound and Kerry Morrow, HCC Councillor Derek Mellor, Allotments for the Neighbouring Poor and the Shanly Foundation.

The carpet was almost 20 years old and wearing out in places.  The surface was uneven, causing slippery patches which were becoming a hazard.  The ball wall is used daily by children and young people (and their parents!) and provides a local facility they can access on foot and by bike.

We were delighted to hear from the contactor that people started using the ball wall again before he had packed up and left the site.  Feedback from users has been very positive.  We are pleased that the work was completed before the school holidays so that local children can enjoy the facility during the holidays.
