Information about Heath End Village Hall

Heath End Village Hall is a purpose built hall in the village of Baughurst, Hampshire. A number of local organisations use the hall on a regular base (see timetable) and it is available for private hire for birthday parties, weddings, meetings and other events. Adjoining the Hall is the Green, providing a large outdoor space that can be used for fetes, sports and other outdoor activities.

There are two halls, the Main Hall and the Small Hall which can be hired separately or together. The Small Hall is suitable for committee meetings and small groups and is furnished with tables and padded chairs. It can seat up to 20 people, more if the chairs are set out theatre style.

The Main Hall is over 4m high, 15.5m long and 7.5 m wide with a dado rail all round which should be used for hanging decorations etc. There are two double fire doors providing access to a paved area and out to the Green.

It has a sprung wooden floor suitable for dancing and a disco can be set up at the bottom end of the hall. There is a decibel monitor which warns if the volume is too loud (green/ amber/ red lights) and the power will cut out when red is reached and come back on after 2-3 minutes.

The Main Hall is equipped with 150 chairs and 20 trestle tables (approx 1.8 by .75m, each seating a maximum of 8 people) and 30 small chairs and 8 small tables that can be used for children’s parties. There is staging comprising 18 1m square sections which can be easily assembled, and a pull down screen at the end of the Hall which can be used for presentations.

Between the two halls is the kitchen with a hatch into each hall. The kitchen has recently been re-furbished and has a fridge, cooker, micro-wave, electric kettle and a new hot water heater for making tea and coffee. There is crockery, but no cutlery and a heated food trolley is available on request.

The Hall is fully accessible for disabled users, and has a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities.

The Hall is not licensed for the sale of alcohol, but groups wishing to sell alcohol (or include alcohol in a ticket price) can apply to the local authority for a Temporary Events Notice (TEN).
